The Path of My Healing Journey

The Beginning

My journey into energy medicine began in 1995 when I discovered self-healing through Reiki, prayer, yoga, and Ayurveda. Over the years, my curiosity and dedication led me to train in numerous healing modalities, including Reiki, Reconnection, Integrative Energy Therapy, Shamanic Reiki, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT-Tapping). These practices deepened my understanding of energy psychology and medicine, and I am honored to now hold certifications as a Holy Fire Karuna Reiki Master and a Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master.

In 1998, I became a Reiki Master, committing to a lifelong healing practice. I had the privilege of studying Reiki with several gifted teachers and teaching it at the Empty Hand Zen Center. Most recently, I trained under William Rand and became a Usui Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master through the International Center for Reiki Training. The journey has been unexpectedly enriching, filled with kindred spirits who embody compassion and spiritual depth.

In December 2023, I completed my Healing Touch apprenticeship, officially becoming a Healing Touch Practitioner—a milestone that fills me with joy and gratitude.

What Is Energy Medicine?

Energy medicine is based on the belief that physical or emotional trauma can block the flow of energy within the body, which may lead to illness over time. Modalities like Reiki, Healing Touch, and EFT Tapping aim to restore the flow of energy, much like acupuncture or acupressure. These practices seek to enhance overall well-being, reduce pain, and promote relaxation by releasing blockages and restoring balance.

Healing vs. Curing

In 2011, as my husband faced stage 4 colon cancer, I embarked on a journey to explore additional healing modalities. Although I could not "cure" him, I witnessed profound healing within him as he transitioned to what he lovingly called "home." Through this experience, I learned that death can also be a teacher, offering wisdom about healing, acceptance, and the journey of the soul.

As Koshal eloquently writes:

Healing focuses on the spirit, while curing addresses the physical.
Healing is a process; curing is a state.
Curing is immediate and medical, whereas healing is multifaceted and long-term.

This perspective continues to inform my approach to energy medicine.

Reconnection Therapy: Levels 1–3, with Eric Pearl, author of The Reconnection
Shamanic Reiki: Levels 1–3 and Master Teacher Level, with Stacey Gibbons and Lynn Roberts, authors of Shamanic Reiki
Akashic Records: Inspired by Linda Howe’s Healing Through the Akashic Records and The Akashic Experience, I discovered this profound practice of connecting with the soul’s wisdom and essence.
Ho’oponopono: This Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness has become a cornerstone of my spiritual journey, offering tools to release memories experienced as problems.

Growth Work for Level 4 Practitioners

If you are an HTPA Level 4 apprentice seeking support in your self-care journey, I offer guidance in Usui/Holy Fire/Karuna Reiki, Akashic readings, EFT Tapping, and Love Card readings. Additionally, I provide sessions on expressive dream work, journaling, SoulCollage, and starting a Ho’oponopono practice. For those exploring spiritual practices, I also offer single sessions on Internal Family Systems (IFS).

A Reminder: Lifelong Learning

I am forever grateful to my past self for pursuing a spiritual path, despite challenges and prejudices, and I encourage you to follow your own calling with courage and love.
