Dream Circle
Welcome to the Dream Circle at Inksite
Hi, and thank you for visiting the Dream Circle. Whether a pure coincidence brought you here or a kind word from a friend, I welcome you wholeheartedly. I hope that this space inspires, connects, and offers you insights into the profound power of dreams. I am an educator, psychotherapist, writer, mixed media artist, and creative dreamer. Dreams are at the heart of my creative practice, inspiring my digital collages, stories, and poems, and guiding me in countless ways.
Dreams as a Sacred Compass
Dreams have been a guiding force throughout my life, helping me navigate pivotal moments, from adolescence to my doctoral dissertation. Over time, I’ve come to see dreams not as random events but as sacred spaces filled with creativity, insight, and meaning. They offer metaphors and symbols—inner compasses that illuminate life’s mysteries.
My journey into dreamwork has been shaped by diverse training, including Montague Ullman’s model of working with dreams, Carl Jung’s archetypal approaches, and the art of dream interpretation rooted in mythology and personal meaning. I also trained with Robert Moss in his "Dream Lightning" method. I love his book on Dreams, Coincidences, and the Imagination. Most recently, I’ve been deeply inspired and taking workshops with Dr. Stephen Aizenstat on Dream Tending, a dynamic approach that sees dreams as living, relational forces in our lives.
Dream Tending resonates with me because it invites us to engage with dreams as active participants, exploring their wisdom in real-time. This method celebrates the living imagery of dreams, encouraging a sense of curiosity, creativity, and connection. It aligns beautifully with my belief that dreams are more than reflections of our inner world—they are living guides, offering direction and inspiration.
An Invitation to Dream
In this Dream Circle, all beliefs, perspectives, and parts of you are welcome. Dreams are deeply personal, and there’s no single “right” way to work with them. I invite you to explore what resonates for you, whether through Dream Tending, reflective journaling, or simply sitting with the images that arise.
Dreams are for everyone—free, limitless, and brimming with potential. Here, we honor them as tools for growth, inspiration, and connection. Together, we’ll embrace the sacred creativity of dreams and uncover the wisdom they hold.

In Japanese, the word for dream is yume, meaning “the eyes in sleep.” We could also say this is what we aspire to in Zen, the see in the dark, to have insight. For several years now I have been working with students and groups to help us develop a dharma eye for our nightly dreams – to enter into their secret language, a language that is at once very personal to each of us and at the same time, universal. Jung said a dream was “speech that is not yet ripe.” How familiar to us in practice, this wordless “felt sense” of change along the path. Seido, Empty Field Zendo

Dreams and Self-Discovery
As a Zen Buddhist practitioner, I view dreams as essential to studying the self. Seido’s article, "Dreaming Mind: The Eyes in Sleep," beautifully captures this perspective:
“To forget the self is to study the act of creating the self, that is, dreaming. Our identities, the stories we weave together from fragments cobbled together over time, are truly great dreams. To awaken, we awaken to the nature of the dream within the dream.”
May your dreams become sacred guides, illuminating your path and nurturing your imagination. Welcome to the journey—let’s explore the magic of dreams together.
